The Search For The Usual Suspects

It's Friday. After an uneventful evening at work, we headed up to the Galley for Midrats. I met up with some friends from fire school who wanted to watch the movie "The Usual Suspects". Sounds like fun. I remember really enjoying the movie several years ago when it was released. So, off we went to the movie lounge.

1. We needed to find the VHS tape in the dark; another group was already watching something.
2. After finding the tape, we needed to find a place to watch it. A smaller lounge was available.
3. As we started the tape, the sound seemed wrong. In fact, this tape had the director and writer talking throughout. This is not what we wanted to hear.
4. I have a copy of this movie on my harddrive, we can play it from my laptop and watch it on the TV if we can find an S-video cable.
5. The search for an S-video cable was extensive. Three of us fanned out across this great station to find the elusive cable. Although nearly every other type of audio/video interconnection cable was found, an S-video cable was not procured.
6. Eureka! I can put the movie file on my video camera, and play the camera into the TV. Nope, the camera would recognize the file even though it had been converted into the native format of the camera.
7. With the file on an SD card, we can plug it into the USB port of a computer hooked up to a nice monitor.
8. By the time I arrived at step 7, the other guys got a hold of a completely different DVD which only 2 of the original 4 of us finished.
9. The Usual Suspects had eluded us....THIS TIME!

Tonight (Saturday night) is Swing shift vs. Grave shift in Dodgeball. I hope to have pictures for the next entry.
